Our core competency is designing, building, and operating affordable, career-based online high schools. Founded in 2009 and located in Pensacola, Florida, Smart Horizons Career Online Education develops career-based high school diploma programs, designed to prepare students for entrance or advancement within the workplace.
What types of careers do your programs prepare students for?
Smart Horizons Career Online Education offers career-credentialed certificate programs for the most in-demand careers, such as Retail Customer Service Skills, Food & Customer Service Skills, Early Childhood Education (CDA), Transportation Services, Criminal Justice, Office Management, and Homeland Security. Students can also complete a Professional Skills program in which they gain general career skills and knowledge to use in any job setting.
What do students graduate with?
Students graduate with both an accredited high school diploma and a career-credentialed certificate. For students who have already completed their high school education, Smart Horizons Career Online Education offers a program in which they earn a Career Certification in one of the above areas.

Smart Horizons Career Online Education is fully accredited as an online school district by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission, the national commission that confers the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) accreditation seal. This means that the SHCOE district and all of its schools are accredited, and that Smart Horizons Career Online Education is recognized across the nation as a quality school system.
